Mission Mine Project

Environmental Stewardship, Conservation, and Permitting

SII is committed to protection of human health and the environment. We take seriously our responsibilities associated with good stewardship of the resources in and around our mining operations. Our goal is to quickly, safely, and thoroughly restore the habitats and ecosystems that we disturb back to their original states. Our proprietary reclamation process is designed to begin to restore affected habitat parcel by parcel immediately after mining has ceased in that parcel. Within 6 months of mining, the parcel is refilled and topsoil replaced. Within 12 months of mining, trees are replanted and reclamation is complete.

SII has retained the services of many area consultants and contractors who possess both the expertise and the experience to help us safely mine in this area and to openly address the many regulatory and non-regulatory aspects of this project. We will attempt to address all stakeholder concerns during the regulatory process and consistently provide information through this website and local communication forums. We will diligently work through the regulatory permitting structure incorporating effective environmental stewardship in our planning to ensure our mining operation meets and exceeds all requirements and expectations. We understand the permitting process will be extensive and will require significant resources and full explanations of our plans and processes, and we are prepared to proceed hand in hand with all governing entities and interested parties under full disclosure.

We intend to leave ZERO lasting impacts to mined areas. We will work diligently with all landowners and commit the necessary resources to return disturbed acreage to its pre-mined condition.

SII will not disturb or impact sensitive wetlands or critical habitat areas.
